In our episode “Through the Black Mirror,” we explore the social and ethical implications of New Media and how prospective technologies in the future will change or disrupt how we currently function in society. The two main questions we cover are: a) how does New Media lead to the blurring of private and public space and what are the dangers of that? And b) what are the consequences of becoming overly invested in our virtual identity as opposed to our corporeal identity. We reference episodes from Black Mirror as well as real-life examples to supplement our arguments and ideas.
